About Our Daycare
Our Little Munchkins is owned and operated by Sharon and Shawna Miller. Our home daycare opened in 2007. We have met some wonderful families and have had many of our children with us since they were newborns. With our full educational program, children can stay in our care right up until it is time for them to enter Kindergarten! Since this will be your child's home away from home, we try to provide a safe, caring, homelike atmosphere for your children. While at the same time, providing for their physical, intellectual, emotional and social development!
About Us
Sharon is 53 years old, married for over 34 years and a mother for over 28 years. She has two grown children. In addition to her years of parenting, she is an Educator in the field of Special Education. She taught ages 3-21 at SMA, The South Metropolitan Association for Low Incidence Handicapped Children. Sharon also spend six years as a Cub Scout Leader and six years as a Girl Scout leader. During her children's later years, she worked as a Band Assistant and Uniform Mom at Tinley Park High School.
Shawna is 24 years old with no children. (Yet!) She is a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) and is up to date on all her medical cards.She specialized in Alzheimer and Dementia Patients in numerous nursing homes, hospitals and home health care agencies. Shawna also spent her teenage years babysitting for many families as well as being a nanny for a family.
Our Philosophy
We believe children should have fun while learning. Sometimes our children have so much fun, they don't realize they are learning. Experts agree children learn through play. We encourage your child to love learning!!
Ages
We offer daycare Monday-Friday year round for ages
6 weeks-12 years.
We offer before and after school for school age children, as well as summer care/days off for school age.
Hours & Rates
We are open Monday-Friday 6am-6pm
